About This Project

Transafe is a driving safety solution that can be retrofitted to all mid- to heavy-duty vehicles regardless of brand or model. It is based on the principle of warning and supporting drivers—who are the primary risk factor in traffic accidents—through advanced sensor and communication technologies. Although Transafe is designed for mid- to heavy-duty vehicles that are commonly used and have high damage rates in Turkey, it can also be easily adapted for use in passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.

Transafe primarily provides alerts for the following:

1. Following distance violations
2. Forward collision danger
3. Road departure warnings
4. Excessive speed when entering dangerous curves

By delivering early and effective warnings to drivers against key traffic hazards like collisions, uncontrolled departures from the road, and skidding, Transafe can reduce traffic accidents by up to 40%.

The main sensor in the system is a 120-meter range automotive radar from a global market leader. All other hardware, algorithms, and software have been developed locally and are protected by a national patent. The radar, embedded in the vehicle’s bumper, detects objects within range and sends their relative coordinates to the smart ECU unit. Lateral motion data for detecting lane departure and curve tracking is also collected by the radar.

The smart ECU evaluates this data along with the vehicle’s speed and turn signal information to calculate the risk of collision or departure. As the likelihood of an accident increases, the driver is alerted in stages—first with visual signals, then with auditory warnings. These risks can also be reported in real time to backend server software via an integrated M2M GPRS unit.

Transafe is designed to operate seamlessly and with high performance under all weather (rain, fog, nighttime, etc.) and road conditions (faded or missing lane markings, etc.). It stands out in the market with its competitive pricing and functional advantages, and is expected to significantly contribute to solving road safety problems both locally and globally.
