Mentoring, which contributes to entrepreneurs receiving support in different fields and creating a roadmap, is among the most important contributions for İTÜ Çekirdek entrepreneurs. At ITU Çekirdek, which has more than 500 mentors who are experts and experienced in their fields, mentors come together with initiatives that will shape the future of Turkey and share their personal and sectoral knowledge and experiences. Thus, they become involved in a large and powerful social network that includes both other mentors and entrepreneurs.
There are several application requirements in different categories for people who want to be an ITU Çekirdek mentor:
- To be a General Manager, CEO, Business Development Manager or Strategist with at least 10 years of experience in the field for the Business Model
- Having at least 5 years of experience in technical subjects such as Internet of Things, Big Data or Machine Learning
- Having at least 5 years of experience in the field for Legal Consultancy
- Having at least 5 years of experience in the field for Legal Consultancy
- Having at least 5 years of experience in the field for accounting issues and wanting to provide “hands-on” support to startups
- Have at least 10 years of work experience in marketing and at least 5 years of experience in marketing
- Actively serving in CTO/CIO positions for Technical General Responsibility
- Having a minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, especially B2B and technical products for sales
- To be a potential investor or VC with experience in funding startups for the finance field
- Serve as a Supply Chain Manager or Operations Manager for the Operation
ITU Çekirdek mentoring process starts with filling out the application form. Mentors, who are accepted after the necessary review and evaluation, participate in a wide range of orientation. Afterwards, the mentors included in the ITU Çekirdek mentor – entrepreneur meeting platform come together with the entrepreneurs according to the suibtable timings.

For corporate companies that want to benefit from open innovation as ITU Çekirdek stakeholders, certain names in the institution are selected as mentors in the first step. Thus, corporate representatives who share their individual and sectoral knowledge with entrepreneurs also enable their companies to approach the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
