NANOGRAFEN

About This Project

Fuel consumption can be reduced by increasing the use of carbon in internal and external equipment in new generation vehicles and reducing weight. Graphene attracts great attention in the production of lightweight, durable and long-lasting composites thanks to its superior mechanical, thermal and electrical properties. Also, graphene is 21. it is called the miracle material of the century and the Sunday size in lightened composite materials is shown as $ 20 billion.

Graphene has an important place in automotive applications. Vacuum infusion and vacuum bagging techniques are widely used in the production of automotive composite parka. Various epoxy resins are used in these techniques. Most of them are also imported.  Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to develop domestic resin formulations with graphene to increase the mechanical strength of the resin and to provide electrical properties. Epoxy resins, which will be developed especially due to the focus on the use of carbon fiber on the outer body of vehicles, will be easily used in the assembly of the park. In addition, graphene will be able to be placed on both the epoxy matrix and the carbon fiber interface.

One of the most important parts of the project is that graphene production costs will be reduced. Since the production capacities in the automotive sector are on the ton scale, reducing production costs will also accelerate the commercialization of graphene. In the proposed project, the carbon material obtained from waste tire pyrolysis will be used as a raw material source in graphene production, and the carbon material obtained through the developed recycling process will have superior properties such as graphene.

The product to be obtained will be able to be distributed homogeneously to thermosetting resins in very low proportions (0.05%-5%). However, graphene can also be used as a lubricant, long-lasting and lightweight battery and electrode material in battery production to increase fuel efficiency, as well as as a booster and reliever in plastics used in vehicle interior equipment. Thus, by increasing the use of carbon in the production of new generation vehicles, production costs will also be significantly reduced.
