Developed by Abidos Bilişim Teknolojileri, the application called Taksi Rehberi (Taxi Guide) enables taxi stands to provide more profitable, higher quality, more economical, and safer services by fully utilizing technological capabilities. To use the system, taxis need a tablet device with the app installed and equipped with GSM and GPS support, while taxi stands only need a computer with internet access.
Customers download the Taksi Rehberi app on their mobile phones. When a taxi is needed, they press the “Call Taxi” button. A nearby available driver receives a “You have a new customer” notification. Upon accepting the request, the driver can view the customer’s address, phone number, and location on the tablet. Simultaneously, the customer can see the arriving taxi’s plate number, driver name, vehicle model, and real-time location. With built-in navigation features, the device shows the customer’s location and calculates the shortest route. Both the customer and the driver can track each other’s location step by step, eliminating address confusion, unnecessary waiting, time loss, and fuel waste. After the ride, the customer can optionally rate their experience.
When a taxi request is received via phone, if the customer is within the stand’s region, the job is assigned to the next available vehicle in line; if outside, it’s assigned to the nearest taxi. Once a taxi accepts the request, it is automatically moved out of the queue, and the order of other vehicles is updated. For frequent customers, address details are pre-saved in the system, allowing taxi dispatch in as little as 5 seconds.
Taxi stand managers can see in real-time which vehicles are assigned, which passengers are picked up, and completed trips. Taksi Rehberi also functions as a customer information system. From the moment a customer is registered, the manager can search the system using a registration number, company name, phone number, or personal name to access contact details, addresses, and notes. Dispatching a taxi is as simple as pressing a single button.
