PetSurfer is Turkey’s next-generation pet platform that connects pet owners with loving and reliable pet sitters through a marketplace model. The platform offers 5 main services: “Host Home Care, Surfer Home Care, Dog Kindergarten, Dog Walking, and Home Visits.” In the system, “surfer” refers to pet owners, and “host” refers to the pet sitters.
Surfers can search for the type of service and pet breed they need in their location and get services from a host of their choice in exchange for a fee.
PetSurfer takes a very sensitive approach to “Safety & Security,” one of its most important aspects, by accepting users onto the platform after a Mernis check. With the “Meeting” system, the host and surfer are encouraged to meet before the reservation and observe their compatibility with the pet. In case of negative meetings, a 100% refund is given. Additionally, the platform also features “Adoption, Foster Care, Lost/Found” ads and a blog structure.
One of PetSurfer’s main goals is to provide a fundamental solution to the increasing pet care needs in Turkey, driven by the rise in pet adoption rates. The platform aims to create a new culture and a new industry with its existing business model.
After launching, PetSurfer quickly issued its first invoice and continues to do so. As of January 2019, PetSurfer has also started receiving support from the Astart Entrepreneurship Program, a joint initiative by Anadolu Sigorta’s Workup and İş Bank. After dominating the Turkish market, PetSurfer aims to expand into international markets as well.
